Begining or Beginning? Spelling Tricks…

Is the correct spelling “begining” or “beginning” to write the word that means “the start” or “starting?” Learn useful tricks here to write this commonly misspelled word the right way every time.

The good news is that there’s a simple solution to the quandary of whether to write “begining” or “beginning.” In fact, “begining” is simply a misspelling and should never be used! It’s a figment of the imagination, like “beleive,” and should be hurled out the window.

Spelling Beginning Correctly

Now that we know that “beginning” is the correct way to write the word, how can we remember that? It’s time for a hand-drawn visual that can help your spelling, just as we did with our “Ninty vs. Ninety” lesson. Here it is…

That’s right, just picture this friendly (not “freindly“) letter “N” saying, “There are 3 of us in BEGINNING!” as shown in my illustration, above. You can also remember that the baseball term, “inning” is the second half of the word.
