Green Chakra: Meaning, Location, and More

With the seven chakras or energy centers of the body, what is the green chakra meaning? What are its properties and associations, and what helps unblock it? Read on to find out!

The ideas here are based on my hands-on work with hundreds of in-person clients over the years, supplemented by my trainings and research. Colors of Energy Centers

In the seven chakras framework, the energy centers of the body run from the base of the spine up to the top of the head, and are each associated with aura colors in rainbow order. These colors can sometimes be seen behind closed eyes during meditation, or during energy work sessions like Reiki or acupuncture.

Green Chakra

Given this, which point on the body is connected with a green aura? The answer is: the 4th or Heart Chakra — also called the Anahata — located at the upper chest, by the heart.

The Heart Chakra is connected with compassionate love (think: maternal care) for others. People with a strong Fourth Chakra are giving, considerate, and helpful to others — sometimes to the point of neglecting their own needs an feelings. Energy blocks can happen when this chakra is so overactive in being of service to everyone else that a person numbs out.

Unblocking the Anahata

As I explained in the article, “Crying During Meditation,” one of the best ways to unblock the Fourth Chakra is to cry. Why? Tapping into your own feelings helps presence you to what your heart is truly feeling.
